Moments of truth I have squandered
only revealing the lies born to me
always hoping for change that leaves me feeling cleaner
but never finding the right place to be.
Every day's the same, and then years seem to follow
locked in a place I don't know
searching for an exit that will lead me to freedom
but never knowing the right way to go.
Signs are laid out but each journey is different
though the pathways I walk, the same
each bearing a cross of a God that is calling
without knowing the truth of his name.
Truth has become so hard to hang onto
when each truth that I hear is a lie
all now disregarded for a glimpse of a future
and to the truth that I knew… goodbye.
