 YOU   STOLE   IT
You took your love away from me.
You stole it in an unthinking fit of treachery
Leaving me abandoned by the wayside
Kicking my dreams into the refuse can of life.

Slavish attention to your every need
Was resultant in betrayal of the highest order
And in the aftermath
My vision is clarified and my mind made up.

May everything come to you for which you deserve.
May you be pardoned for thinking yourself humankind.
May you be festooned by doubt
When the night wakes you at its darkest hour.
