Tell the Children

In most countries the crime rate has certainly increase
Spreading throughout many areas, like a very infectious disease
Many people are crying out, that they would like in many ways
The return of those values of former days

But what is quite true and was so evident in all those years
Was that no one had anything more valuable that their peers
So what was there for someone to steal and later sell?
Because that potential buyer was as equally broke as well.

In time changes occurred, and this was certainly quite evident
In the quantity, quality and even that level of employment
So people had luxuries, like cars, better homes with expensive decoration
This therefore made them to thieves a very positive attraction.

This too also brought home some changes to those value systems
Which has to the family unit is another worrying problem
Gone are those days, of brining home anything without being question
About the manner in which it got into the bearer's possession

But what have this too, done to the perception of the children
Who now see the family, in a state of a better financial position?
Some become so relentless, in their many materialistic demands
And many of the parents fail to demonstrate those resilient stands.

Not trying to tell them that it was some very astute discipline
That has taken them through the wasters of life's ocean
Some never to their children even try to let them be privy
To a few chapters in the book; about their life's story.

But instead make it their quest, to move in a circle, that depict a status
Not wanting to be out on the circumference, but in the nucleus
So therefore would endure any test, endure any pains, and perform any labors
To make sure with a certain social group, they can rub some shoulders.

So therefore try not to confuse those who will be the future adult population
Let them know the truth and how they can be changes in life's fortune
That even though in one stage, there is that indication the one can cope
Sometime later in the future, one can be walking on an economical tightrope.
