Climb the highest mountain, punch the face of god

Desserts

She was all peaches and cream one minute,
Ice cream and steak sauce the next.
One texture completely obliterating the other.
I spoon out the refuse to make way
For the wholesome.
The rotten eggs, the spoiled milk, tainted beef,
Thrown down the drain to symbolize the
Uselessness of our appetite in this relationship.
I wanted to think of sweet things when I think of you.
Grapes, raspberries, the sinful delight
Of a freshly made caramel apple but instead I'm
Getting nothing but mechanically separated chicken parts.
I will miss getting a lollipop instead of asparagus
When I think back to you.
