Using Gifts

If I could merely speak,
Having an angel tongue;
Of the words I could seek,
And letting them be flung.

For knowledge that they seal,
Would be then done away;
Because I would reveal,
They secret that they say.

For where the tongues would cease,
Since their knowledge is gone;
Having no chance of peace,
The words would not see dawn.

There would not be a doubt,
No secret anymore;
Because it was left out,
Closing and locked the door.

For some things if we knew,
Suspense would be conclude;
And the knowledge we drew,
No longer could elude.

Even the mysteries,
That the Lord still has locked,
Would be like diaries,
Of your sister you gawked.

It is not us to know,
If it is day or night;
How the future will go,
Like a seer with insight.

Only the signs will tell,
When we should be prepared;
Set to where we will dwell,
And eternity be shared.
