There are many times in our lives when things get complicated
I could tell by your smile and your eyes; they gave you away
Falsehood happenings weaved within the way you made love to me
The soft, gentle way your arms comfort me at the end of the day
Life is only as complicated as we tend to make it
The smile that shone in my eyes as I looked at you
Was the reality of the love in my heart as I felt it
Your comforting and caring then was my blessing to you
When my world was falling apart; you could lift me up with a smile.
I would start laughing till I cried, you would wiped away my tears?
I lost the strength to pull myself up and out of the gutter
I couldn't have cared less, I was weak, some how you gave me strength?
Don't you realize that I needed to be needed by you
I needed to be the one to lighten your load and your heart
To dry your tears and shine light into your darkened view
Of our reason, season or lifetime, I was your season as ordained
I looked into your face, I knew everything was going to be alright
We took a walk in the park and all that was oppressive disappeared
Remember the faces of the people, it was so easy to see their secrets?
Couples that were happy, those who had a lover's quarrel, young and old
I adored and cherished our walks for you too gave me strength and hope
Your love and your warmth gave way to the easing of my deepest fears
I do so remember those faces we would meet as we could see the hope,
Love and eternal beauty in them through the tender love that we shared
When you were away I swear I could hear you whispering my name afar
There was something deep inside of me that churned my emotions array
It's not hard to realize we were two lonely people searching
In search of, "The Never Ending Story", to belong, forced to let go
I do not regret the love we shared when we were together
Because it was a love meant to be for the time that it lasted
For between us, “The Never Ending Story” has now been finished
We shared the love that we were meant to and now we must go on
I thank God for the times we had together, giving each what was needed
You gave me the strength I needed and in return I nourished your soul
Don't get me wrong, for I will always be thankful our paths did cross
It was meant to be this way; I can now learn to grow, to fly afar
Our love and our time together was a true heavenly blessing from God
It was the apex of our lives that we needed to help us grow
We both now have the opportunity to share the lessons learned by
Loving deeper, soaring higher and finding our true soul mates.
I will forever keep you in my heart!
As will I forever hold the love we shared in mine
For we have enhanced each others lives!
