Behind each word he'd cut again
His will imposed on her to bend
Fragile body, once soft her skin
Battered by blows struck down by him
Fear would take hold, kept her at bay
For hours scared, in corner stayed
Once someone loved in mind she thought
Yes Mr. Right so wrong life lesson taught
She took on fault before she came
To realize she bared no blame
Clear arrogance would supersede
His ignorance to all her needs
This one's for her and all women
Abused relations that some have been in
That fell to knees when struck by men
Giving free reign to pummel them
Their many reasons, children just one
To stick it out with their someone
Who wields his hands weapons they forged
To impose will upon minds gored
The psyche now, like clay gives way
To fear and marks and barks that play
Mate's role to keep escape at bay
Maybe better things get today
And in the end they did not see
They should have left and lived pain free
For wounds unseen take too their toll
When breath becomes their last to hold
This write was written for a sister in CHRIST Cookie, who was involved
in an abusive relationship and those still in one. May you
realize that you are a child of GOD and no man has the
right to ever harm you physically or mentally
