Advice for the Future
There is something that to me is so enjoyable and refreshing
Are those moments spent with old people happily conversing?
Here, I can obtain some very useful and important tips
That I can use to navigate my way during my life's trips
In many there were potential but lost the opportunity
As in that era, there was no access to any means financially
And despite there was an access to a limited education
One could see that time and ages, brought along great wisdom
My admiration too, was for those who were illiterate
But on that my mind never in any way deliberated
It was just amazing to see the sharpness of that memory
As they recall some very significant moment in history.
No matter how I try and I did it for a long time
Tried to sneak up on those who were blind
But no matter what, I could never understand
As each moment a voice rang out; “glad to see you young man.”
Sometimes one will began climbing the stairs with me
There I was youthfully running up, taking them by three
I would hear, there you go climbing up those stairs so rapidly
But would smile, as I would say in a matter of time I would be just like thee.
As a junior I always make sure that I listen quite attentively
To their experiences as they talked about their life's story
An elderly gentleman told me how he refused to buy some land
It was very remote, and looked barren.
Now look today he said tearfully, it has been transformed into an upscale development
My friend selling one lot, could have covered any of the money spent
So young man, never ever should you ignore
Those knocks of opportunity on your mind's door.
