Of all the writes a poet shall pen
Of all the words read now and back then
Did you shed light where darkness once reigned?
Or made an impact in one not the same
Be it you or a reader, a soul searching peace
A mind much in need, one thought of least
Like friend in the process healing with words
A touch unlike others, bringing peace to disturbed
Each stroke of a key that forms what is written
Becomes your impact a message yours hidden
Lifting of spirits even if just one
Became so much better because of someone
There is so much need to listen to others
Be it poet, you writer, dear sisters and brothers
The words that you spill upon pages yours
Brings message to others of life we endure
Dreams make for some comfort not only in sleep
But awake when your thinking when faith yours does leap
Into unknown, road yours less traveled
Here's where you're best begins to unravel
A message of hope, asset of assurance
Bouquet not of flowers, but one of endurance
Though life that I breathe and exhale is imperfect
In eyes of my maker He sees me as perfect
So follow His lead as He asked well before I
Came to know life though one day I'll die
I'll follow His lead bringing life to the broken
His words not mine, both written and spoken
