It's not the genes
How often we may see a specific race of people
Demonstrate that degree of proficiency, so aptly capable
Be it sports, business or any sort of subject matter
Does that mean that as a people, they are better?
Take a look at those who in the majority, who collect the Nobel Prize
The race of them may to some be a certainty and will not cause any surprise
But because, they may be in a far greater number
Does that signify that they are intellectually superior?
Today look at who is dominating the track and field
And who are the NBA stars, doing it with great zeal
Does one believe that it's that obvious physical structure?
That is the main ingredient in the star success mixture.
There may be some sitting at home and believe it seriously
That because of their race the ability may come quite naturally
Therefore will inculcate that culture, that because of such a relation
There should be the entitlement to stardom, and hence a champion,
There is some veracity, that abilities, confidence and empowerment
Is certainly born in ones culture and by extension, that environment
Where there are all the requirements are in the country's infrastructure
So that its people, can attain that level of training they require.
But what about those who are labeled gifted or talented
All races have some members, who are so blessed
Then took a few may be conferred a status of genus
But both the former and latter, has certainly eluded lots of us.
So there are many who know that the only way to succeed
Is to put in my long hours of hard work, is the only need
Therefore when one observe a person, operating with some alacrity
There were perhaps years not race, that they now make it look so easy.
