A Time for EverythingWe have a time to laugh, a time to cry, We have a time to live, and a time to die, I've faced my ghost, but I know not why, It wasn't my time, the end not nigh, Illness came like a bolt out of the blue, No time for fear as the pain in me grew, Seeking medical help, I knew what to do, Ignorance was bliss, that much I knew, Awake after surgery, barely able to speak, Unable to move, my ailing body too week, Tubes everywhere, for secretions to leak, I knew it was serious, renewed faith to seek, Cancer's not the killer, it once used to be, It still strikes a fear, it happened to me, Like a guillotine hanging, unable to see, What medicine could do to set me free.
