 The Cornfields of Arbroath

Like tears of an angel
Trickling streams that lead one way
Down to the sea below
Swallows duck and dive
Balancing like small specks of ants
Caught in the air currents.
The midges sip on the crystal waters
As the white daisies, go side to side
The clouds that seem to touch the ground
Seek refuge within the corn fields
A battered, faded white sign, says
‘5 miles to Arbroath'
A long the cornfield paths.
