Which lasts longer, love or sorrow?
We never learn if there is no tomorrow.
So many things I wanted you to hear.
Trapped by my pride, though it was you I held dear.
Alone when together, but near in my heart,
With words left unspoken that kept us apart.
I wish you could understand the way that I have felt,
But we played the game with the cards we were dealt..
I am sorry we never seemed to find time to share.
Special moments between us, seemed to be so rare.
Things we thought important, didn't matter at all.
Though we spoke of them in earnest each time I would call.
For the pain and the laughter that made our lives soar
I'm happy for this time, though I wish we had more.
