Poetic Verses
The Calypso Show
No matter how far away I may roam, that may be any location
It's like a strong attraction pulls me home for the calypso competition
There is lots of fun; there is banter and that friendly rivalry
As people support their favorite and mocking each other teasingly
From early evening fans come from some great distances
To get a spot that will give them a good visual advantage
So before the show, the stand is all jam packed, and spilling
And outside there are still many more bent on entering.
People from all over the world and from all within the Caribbean
All come to be part of such happiness and to accomplish a dream
But some like me always find that there is much entertainment abound
When we just mingle and socialize among those on the grounds.
What pulsating and wonderful atmosphere, you will find there
As people dance around and upon and in between the chair
Then when the music and it beat so sweet, gets to the feet
The chairs are cast aside or put together in a little heap.
There will be people stooping and jumping around
Feet flying in all direction to the live sound
Other will be doing a slow wind on the way to the down
Then there will be inertia, and then a move to the ground
Some will put throw all inhibition out the windows
As they continue the gyration as the say on all fours
Other may gyrate moving that derriere on the date or who ever
This some may do sandwiched between two revelers
On the grounds there will always another show
As you will see the shapely and the rotund let go
And if you were not privilege to see this exhibition
Of a person's buttocks; gyrating in a different direction.
Of course amid all that, there is imbibed a variety of spirits
In this some may even exceed their tolerance limits
But will say that it will been be burn up in the system
As they will do so by performing lots of gyrations
In the stand the audience with colors and banners
Will depict of who they are supporters
When the show end and there is a winner
There is then another preparation for the next chapter.
