A Shattered Dream

Fade away those days,
The days that took me to the celestial joy.
Flowers, colourful in bunches,
Wave the passersby,
Through the green avenue of carpeted grass.
Wait the touch me not plants
Virgins, for a touch to droop shyly,
While the breeze tickles and teases to cajole them.

How shall I forget the fragrance;
Medley of lily, rose and jasmine?
So do the sparrows, cuckoos and robins;
Play the lute in nature's chorus.
Quarrel the squirrels and crows on high branches,
So do the children beneath
In the cool shady grove
To snatch the fallen mango fruits.

When shall I see, those sights again
By sitting on the lone veranda seat?
Lightning through the canopy holes,
Seems as camera flash,
The arrogant wind's show follows
Compel the lush trees perform Thandava
Lo, the hair standing experience, unforgettable.

Away below the hill side,
Herds of cattle although the day,
Graze freely, often beholding
To listen the gaggle of boys
Play with palm leaf balls and staff.
Where shall I see the joyous dance,
Rhythm and grace harmoniously mingled
Amuses everyone and erases all het up.

Shattered away all those,
Shattered my dreams.
Buzz the flies on stinky sewage
Spit the smoke from factory tunnels
Clang of rails and noisy high ways
Turn the land barren, the air and water toxic.
Urbanism swallowed the ease,
The beauty and tranquility of country life.

Balan.
