SCOUNDREL
You told me not to love you
Then did everything in your power
To make me fall in love with you
Upon me your affection showered
You told me not to love you
Spending so much time with me
And made me fall in love with you
Not seeing the forest for the trees
You told me not to love you
Doing too much to show you cared
To make me fall in love with you
Your deepest dreams you shared
You told me not to love you
And I truly tried so hard
You made me fall in love with you
Though my heart I tried to guard
You told me not to love you
But now it's way too late
To keep from falling in love with you
These feelings are far too great
You told me not to love you
Yet your artifice went unseen
Wish I'd not fallen in love with you
that your game I could have gleaned
You told me not to love you
A scoundrel through and through
Undeserved, I gave my love so true
Wish my heart had been saved from you
