 The London Riots
When I first saw those fires burn
I didn't think the tide would turn
Like an epidemic it spread
And now 4  innocent people are dead.
When I got a text saying
‘The riots have spread to Ealing'
I couldn't believe what I was reading
My City lost to senseless rioting!
They burnt down charity shops
Threw petrol bombs at cops
Mainly young kids running a muck
Ferule rats, who couldn't give a 'monkeys'
This was not about race or creed
This was mindless robbery for greed
This was not about government cuts
These were nasty chavs and dirty sluts
Whose parents, if they had any at all
Had no control at home or at school
No sense of pride and joy
All they knew was to destroy
It saddens me to see my Country this way
Youth culture has gone astray
No point trying to make sense of it
In all beautiful parks you get dog 'mess'
These people are in a minority
The dregs and scum of society
But these riots have actually
Brought together our community
In the ever ending circle of humanity
They'll be another anarchy
But for now I'll say it simply
If you want to protest publicly
Do it at home in front of the TV
With a slice of cake and a cup of tea.
