It was to be but like pipe dreams
All up in smoke where fires burn
Are things wished for, things for yearned
You swallow loss and upper lip
Becomes stiffer and eyes yours lift
To sky vast where Sun and clouds
Become two friends asking them how
How do they rise above such things?
Above this day without wings
While search we do upon our back
Lost pair our own once had now lacked
Perhaps angels don't really roam
Upon blue sphere we all call home
Perhaps it was but a mirage
This thing called love more hodgepodge
Diced and mixed in life's blender
More hangover, stupor this bender
Leaving bad taste in thoughts surrendered
Perhaps better if not remembered
Perhaps this day where storm clouds change
Mindset of things now washed by rain
Downpour of sorts to drown your fears
Along the road of sweat and tears
Perhaps this write was more for you
That colors my day too feeling blue
