Dear God, please teach me
Not to hate
These people who manipulate.

They tortured him until the end
And I was left without my best friend.

I've tried so hard to forget the pain
But the nightmares just return again
And AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN!

I loved him so
And he loved me
Yet he blindly trusted this family.

When he finally became aware of his fate
You're saving my life, he told me
But it was just too late.

Now that he's buried, hidden under the ground
Do they cry for him?
SHH!!!!  I DON'T HEAR A SOUND.

Milt when I visited him in North Carolina in November 2010, smiling bravely with photos of me and of both of us together placed on tables on either side of his bed. Milt died two months later, on January 18, 2011 in an undisclosed location. His sister telephoned me, crying, on January 22nd to tell me Milt had passed away. She and her children here in New Jersey were not notified of his death until three days after the funeral took place.
