Echoes of the Heart
Email Poem | Today's Poetry

 Family Tree
Reminiscing the young and tender moments
praises of good looks and promising compliments
how great the memory of family components
the love, happiness, success, and achievements.

As a whole I see the picture
the everyday life, family relations no fracture
because deep within I only had to endure
pangs of animosities pricking like acupuncture.

Jealousy was the root of it all
the young mind thought mom's unfair after all
akin to balancing act upon a rolling ball
led to an inevitable pain from a mighty fall.

Marriage wasn't made by own choice
children in those times were given no voice
uncaring how life missed the feeling of rejoice
everything recorded in queue like invoice.

It's my turn in this modern generation
I try to fit with care and moderation
the nature of children seeking special attention
amid voluminous efforts I do no sign of appreciation.

Life is history repeated by pedigree
albeit a slight change may be tangible to see
among blood relations everyone ought to be
adherent to the customs, traditions, and branches of a family tree.
