My great friend Bill Forder pasted away this week. Bill was a true western gentleman and a fine old cowboy.
Bill was 91 years old and if he had made it till Oct he and his wife would have been married 70 years.
He will be misted at the cowboy shoots but most of all he will be missed by those who loved him.

Straight as an arrow he lived his life true
Honest clean cut a friend through and through
Leather brown from the sun and handy with a gun
Sat the saddle upright viewed life as bright
Stood by his friends never forgetting his kin
Through sunlight and darkness he stood for what's right
A helping hand he would give decent he lived
If I needed backing he would come packing
Stood by my side a true and loyal friend
I'd do the same for him if he got out on a limb
A man of honor was he a lot more then me
On a far away plain at sunset I will see him again
For to that heavenly range he has crossed
The place where a cowboy is boss
He's gone now I will miss him by my side
As he takes the last lonely ride
Today I cried because he had died and for him I prayed
Soon my light too will fade as I draw that last spade
Again we will stand side by side
As the sunsets and I too take the last lonely ride.
