Thar Advice
There are those who will quite easily admit
That without any help, they could not have made it
A kind word were like a very steady and influential hand
Were those wheels that steer them around those treacherous bend
There is that feeling which can be on so very nice
When something good happens after heeding some advice
How fortunate it turned out because after taking that moment to listen
You were privy to some information that effected a change in direction.
Some of us younger folks tend always to blast
That those older folk are all relics from the past
But failed to remember that those had a history
So they are the ones who are best able to tell the story.
Certainly they had to live through moments of such oppression
At times comparable to what is now to us a recession
They can tell of what they do to buffer that impact
And what they did to put themselves back on track
In life there will be always those recurrent problems
And no matter what, we must find methods to deal with them
So therefore not only listen, but take a very careful look around
Learning too from the mistakes of others, can be an important lesson.
How often there is that talk about those days of living in a community
When as a child your had a parent there in almost everybody
Never lacking in their love care and always had some advice
And never failed to reprimand if you did something that was not nice.
