Learning from History
They were under a cloud,
When going through the sea;
That was sort of a shroud,
That guided where to be.
They were all united,
And ate of the same food;
God was not delighted,
About their attitude.
Spiritual food and drink,
As they drank from a rock;
Of history to think,
Jesus has solid talk.
God far from being pleased,
With numerous of them;
His thoughts did not get eased,
Maybe He should condemn.
Dead bodies were scattered,
Over the desert sand;
As beaten and battered,
Never reaching the land.
For these things have become,
Examples so that we;
Not to desire some,
Evil things that could be.
Never partake in sin,
Are against His command;
You could find being in,
The midst of sinking sand.
And feel God did forsake,
As death has made its sting;
And you are killed by a snake,
From venom the fangs bring.
