When one can smell that freshest air
That is a living pleasure to breath in
Its pure fragrance as it nears to you
Silently still it moves slowly to begin
The crops and grasses all sit up and wait
The leaves upon the trees all bow and sway
That beautiful smell of the coming rain
I enjoyed its heavenly fragrance again today
We get more than our share of rain sometimes
But there is that special time I speak of true
When one can sit and smell the most pure air
As it moves slowly across the land to you
One can taste the oxygen in ones soul
Life giving and a gift from above
Has one feel glad to be alive and well
Another gift from God with love
How I just love the smell the coming rain
Even though its still a little far away
Its purest air one can breath in so deep
As it moves slowly across dry soil on the day.
