People sometimes ask us for things
Or maybe even to do something,
Or even to help with a certain task
There`s many things that they may ask.
We answer with an `Oh yes of course`
And on the subject we may have a discourse,
We may say `I will do that` as soon as I can
And in our mind we`re making a plan.
But as always with a best laid plan
Things go wrong and it goes down the pan,
And these good deeds just get pushed aside
And their disappointment is hard to hide.
I think possibly what we really should do
Is make sure we can carry it through,
So promise only what we can deliver and
Deliver more than we promise how grand.
