Wedding Off

Wrote after my partner's brother and his ex fiancee cancelled their wedding a few months ago.
It should have been taking place on the 16Th September 2011.

The question was popped,
The rings were bought,
Things were set,
Or so we thought.

We were happy,
For the both of you,
Although a little rushed,
We thought it was true.

Vows to be said,
Made to be kept forever,
Keeping you both happy in love,
And strong together.

Then all too soon,
Things turned cold,
The wedding cancelled,
The rings were sold.

Nobody knew why,
The wedding plans were through,
Everything called off,
No hearing the words 'I Do.'

It's sad when plans go wrong,
When things don't work out,
But to learn and move on,
Is what life's all about.

Better find out now,
Than when it's too late,
Divorce is something,
You don't want on your plate!
