 THE OLD ROAD TO HOME
How many times Ive walked it
I knew then every single stone
That old dirt track to take me back
To a place I once called home

Memories stay safe forever more
So deeply in ones very mind
Little fragments of special times
And places you found then so sublime

And closer to that home I knew
Still there upon ones minds slate
Was that welcome sight day or night
Of that very loved home old gate

It was not far if you were in the car
But to walk it too a country mile
And gave one time to clear ones mind
As one nears to a place loved all the while

These memories we choose to keep within
Of places and times we once all knew
All bring us now and again back to a time
We then loved so very much in our way its true

I loved it then this memory away back when
A time that will always be within my soul
When those I loved were all still there
Special memories gone by in days of old .
