Memories, from the back of my mind,
Images, that were left behind.
Memories from another time in my life
From yesterday, last year, or times with my ex-wife.
Memories, from times in my teens,
Visions, flash backs, playing back scenes,
Teenage years, proms and football games,
Knucklehead stunts, embarrassments, and shames.
Memories, from preteen years,
Awkward moments, many tears.
Cool surprises, and sad disappointments,
Scratches and cuts, healed by home ointments.
Happy times, and also some sad,
Uncontrollable things that made you mad.
Toddler memories, faded flashes,
from innocent times and days,
Ruff and tumble times, when a boy learns and plays.
Travels, vacations, family visits,
Sunny summers, and winter blizzid's,
Little plastic swimming pools,
Bathing in metal tubs, not so cool.
OPPS... another flash...
Up to the time, I met my girl,
And we got together, to face the world.>
OPPS another flash...
The birth, of both my boys,
And the times, I bought diapers and toys.
Dressed them in the latest gear,
Which they grew out of in half a year.
First intelligent conversations,
Verbalizing, first time sensations.
Again, another flash
First time I got to drive,
and his surprise look too,
When he found out, I already knew.
Been driving his car, bout a year or two,
All these things, captured in time,
and retained in the deepest part of my mind.
Life's photo albums, from times good and bad,
And they're all mine, mine alone, happy or sad.
