Coffee at Tintern Abbey
Whispers of secrets
shadows of men
dark swishing habits
circle and bow.
Windows gleam colour
angels and saints
spires and columns
stoney and clean.
Singing drifts softly
chanted and deep
rhythmic and blended
mellow and slow.
Coffee is steaming
in patterns of eyes
staring at candles
that flicker and fade.
