 345. Glittering Crimson
(words thanks to Jessica D.
& Thanks to Loren for typing)

Whoever thought
That the crimson blood stains
Off of cold steel sword
Would look so beautiful.

But revenge is “pretty”
When there's an awesome soundtrack
And we're at the movies,

But ask the heroine addict
Or the crack junkie

If killing their best friend
For their next fix
Was all it was cracked up to be
In the movies.

Or if it was some nightmare
That they wanted to wake up from.

Ask the three year old
Whose father died in 9/11
If he'd think it'd make a good story
For us to watch in the theaters
So that we can be moved
To tears
Because…

If it's not in the movies
Or on YouTube
We don't know how to be moved
Into action
Or give a damn.

Yes doesn't that “pretty”
Crimson
Metallic
Blood stain
Look good for a screen shot
Or do we think
There's something terribly wrong
When we hear a gunshot
Or see a child
Covered in blood
With the words
“Revenge is a dish
best served
cold.”

It is we who are cold
Because it takes a video
Or a movie
For us
To be moved
To tears.
