 349. Confession
The lights are out
And I don't
Want you to
See my face
Or the tears
Streaking down
My face…
Because I am
Ashamed to tell
You…
What you don't
Want to hear
The truth.

The truth is
I cheated on you
And lied to you
Because you
Made it so easy.

The truth is
I stole from you
Because you had
Enough and I
Didn't think
You would
Notice.

The truth is
I am jealous of
You and all you
Have.

The truth is
I still love you
And you still
Love me
And we are
Both lying
To ourselves
And each other.

The truth is
Grandma really did
Love me more
Than you,
And I used it
To hurt you,
Because mom
And dad loved
You more
Than me.

I confess that
It feels better
To let this out
Than keep this
In.

I confess
I am afraid
Of what you
Will think about
Me
When you
Find out
The truth.

I confess
That I hope
You will
Forgive me,
So I can
Forgive myself.

I confess
That I hope
You will still
Love me.
