Through the years
I've held gatherings
In my houses
And halls…
And the tides
Of friends
Has flowed…
Some are like
Steady rocks
In stream of time
Always there
Barely shifting
Always smiling
Being my sacred
Witnesses to
My life.
Others are fish
That seasonally
Swim when
It is mating season
Looking for
That special someone
And once found
Return to the sea
From whence
They came.
Some come only
Once
And turn tail.
Others come
And stay
For a while
Until they have
Found what
They were looking for.
Still other find healing
And open minds…
They come
They go
I remain.
It is my job
To make the space
To open the place
To make the time
For my friends
To join me
For a while…
