DANCE OF THEIR LAST HURRAH

DANCE OF THEIR LAST HURRAH

The dog days of August have come and gone
The days of Indian Summer are here

Hundreds of dragonflies swarm
dancing the dance of their last hurrah

Hummingbird are greedily drinking
the last nectar from fading flowers

The tree tops are embroidered with golden hues
Autumn's Equinox sun cast long shadows across the lawn

Leaves are turning amber
Fuzzy caterpillars wiggle across a dusty road

The earth is preparing for its long nap of regeneration
Rejoice! God is still in control

While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat,
and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
