We are in turmoil all the time,
Thinking about our kin...
Fighting this dictating tyrant,
But be sure, this war we'll win.
My family is out there like others,
My sons and a boyfriend I adore,
But when I showed fear, my son said to me,
'Mum, this is what we're fighting for!'
'For my nephew and niece, your grandchildren!'
'So they can have a life to live!'
'And for others the whole world over!'
'So 'My' pledge is 'My' life I give...!'
'Tyranny shouldn't be allowed!'
'Making people fear for their lives each day!'
'It has to be stopped, it must end!'
'So with our lives we have to pay!'
'The loss of our life is of no consequence,'
'We accept our fate, we pledge our life,'
'We signed on the dotted line...'
'To serve and protect the world from strife!'
'We fight for the children of tomorrow!'
'So they can grow and thrive in peace!'
'No fear or threat of tyranny and fear!'
'To make the war's of this world cease!'
He only wants to make good his word,
The pledge he made to give his life,
He has no fear, no regrets,
All he wants for us is a better life...
Now 'I' know in my heart that's true,
But to lose to save a life...!
Is so sad, and heartbreaking,
And fills us with fear and strife!
We are blowing in the wind,
We are praying all the time,
For our kin, the forces,
Our loved ones, yours and mine!
Be strong of heart keep your faith in God,
And on the sea of time...!
Whisper to yourself every day...
"They'll be back safe and fine."
So to 'My' son so brave and strong,
And to all who fight this war...
Think of the children of tomorrow,
Remember what they're fighting for!
