Falling Away
In turmoil hearts give way this day
Once heroes, today now play
With thoughts dark, with gun in hand
The last of them, today near stands
The job has taken toll of them
Stress unseen will help condemn
Mindset knocks on suicides door
Reasons too many, countless each stored
Broken hearts and vows give way
To partnerships where south did stray
From solid ground today hearts pound
Just shy of trigger in soul not sound
Blue Knight of day and night succumbs
To single shot fired to numb
Behind they leave precious some things
Their heart and soul of everything
Too proud to beg, confessing yield
To end it all, last breath death steals
Little room to get things right
Tending to nothing of light
Departure theirs a bang of sorts
No one to stop, to help abort
Today one more checks out and says
Goodbye to all not seen this day
A lonely way leaving this earth
When so much more was their net worth
A write for approximately 300 Law enforcement
officers who will take thier life this year
