From the Heart Through the Pen

yosph
How can you make wishes
If you don’t believe in wells, lamps or stars
How can you make the trip to fish
When your motor won’t start
She asked and I told her
There wasn’t a thing I couldn’t fix
My specialty was beliefs and hearts
Told her since there were no hotels near
She could stay for the evening
Until I was finished with the repairs
Never got unexpected visitors
But we got along like
She was childhood friends with my sisters
Too much chemistry; couldn't resist her
Gave in to temptations
Awoken by the daylight
After a night to remember
Clicked like Dorothy’s ruby reds
She said she felt right at home
The more we talked
The more on each other we’ve grown
Finally found the root to her problems
While we were deep in conversation
She waited for all I had in to spill out
But not for me to solve them
Played her role far too well
Saw her coming a mile away
Yet couldn’t catch on to the act
Till she bid me farewell
Karma disguised; ain’t that a …..
Got me with that line about a wish
Should I really be surprised
I gave her an offer
I swore she couldn’t refuse
Later on, saw the money on the table
All I could do was LOL
Never have I felt so used
Then again all this was based
On the path I decided to choose

Swallowed my pride and asked her to stay
She told me
"I’m all about business and on to the next one
Told you I was a mess
It’s not games but people like you I play"
