 All The 'Pretty' People

Everyone is 'superior' up on Rich Man's Lane.
A little farther down, maybe not too much so.
Everyone is pedigreed on Rich Man's Lane
And believe me, they'll make sure you know....

Only fancy folks live there on Rich Man's Lane;
It twists and curves thru massive pine trees tall,
Past dusty unpaved Ford and Chevy Streets,
But Rich Man's Lane don't mix with them at all....

All the kids have chauffeurs to get them around.
That way they need not mix with lesser creatures.
They're entertainment is a Theater In The Round.
They wouldn't dare be caught at double features....

Life is nice and soft and easy on Rich Man's Lane.
Everyone gives to charity at least once a year.
They seem to hold all others in total disdain,
While sipping champagne and imported beer....

I have always been so glad I live on Chevy Street
The air is too rare for me to breathe up there
I have black and brown and white friends to greet
Leaving rich folks to their pool boys and au pair....
