 The Gulf
Time/space separate; dimensions unravel;
Shadows from another time,
Another place, another world.
Sensing a distant memory;
Unique is this power and force
Reaching out to you from across the gulf.
Billions of miles, or occupying this space,
Simply in a different time,
Or is it another dimension?
Familiar is the unknown;
Warm are the embers inside
That know the love from across the gulf.
My hand touches your hand in presence;
Through a worm hole
Across many lifetimes.
A moment suspended,
The opening can be felt;
As I grasp for you from across the gulf.
Torn from me is your glowing essence;
Looking at my empty hand,
Still feeling your warmth.
A sad smile crosses my face;
We have met once again,
Then separated by the void of the gulf.
I could cry and beat my chest in mourning;
Now gone away from me,
Slipping from my now.
Shadows from another time,
Another place, another world;
Yet your love comes from across the gulf.
