Gazing into the sunset, so beautifully bright
Reminiscing a lifetime together tonight
Her hand feels like tissue now fragile with time
His hand sometime trembling but he holds hers just fine
Her eyes somewhat dimmer, but twinkle with light
From his love that still shines in her soul burning bright
Although he moves slowly while walking along
In her eyes, he is beautiful noble and strong
He's forever her hero, she's the song in his heart
From all that they shared they would never depart
He still sees her beauty the one he adored
From the moment he saw her, claimed her love his reward
She guards his heart with a vengeance, her loyalty intense
Her unwavering faith strengthens his confidence
They've had their rough moments but one thing is sure
While they worked through the trials, their love remained pure
Their friendship is deep, their devotion is true
Respect for each other is what they value
They share endless laughter, admiration, respect
Acceptance while knowing no one is perfect
Of life's lessons they've learned and experience they share
While they sit contemplating, it would pale to compare
All the things they've accomplished, or collected or bought
without each other it would all be for naught.
Their love touches all as a sweet inspiration
Some may envy, but most with admiration
So now as they contemplate their life's odyssey
The end of this journey, and face eternity
They hold tight to each other, and while looking above
There's no fear, just the comfort of eternal love.
It is almost surreal Around them a glow,
Is it some kind of magic?
It's the love that they know.
