Autumn
Autumn season on display
As summer slips away
The sun retires too soon
Reading at night by light of the moon
Autumn's spinning colors twist
Seeing them it's hard to resist
Creating colored quilted patterns on the ground
Walking on beauty without a sound
Autumn's colored leaves on trees
Blowing in the slight gentle breeze
Looks like crayons close to each other
Bunched up and crowding one another
Mornings covered with misty frost
Autumn paid a generous cost
Gathering fertile rich harvest
As summer has gone to rest
Autumn sets the perfect stage
And takes us through breath taking foliage
The leaves fall and nap
As we eagerly search the map
Looking for unusual places
Beautiful earth filled spaces
Autumn's special delights and sights
Wrapping up on chilly nights
Autumn will not stay
Enjoy clean, cool, crisp days
Autumn season on display
Until winter comes our way
