 Stand Firm
Shifting sands swamp my soul,
Inconsistent applications abound;
Struggling internally to make sense
Of the chaos that swirls about me.
Balance and stability overwhelmed;
Entering into judgment… rebellion!
This is NOT what I desire for my life;
Stomping my foot against the tide.
Embattled, bloodied, yet courageous;
Gathering shards of my shattered soul.
The warrior within will not surrender;
My ego barks out orders… Stand firm!
Another day fighting for my rights;
Dawn sprinkles in a new sunlight.
Lowering my weapon, reality looms;
Challenging me to walk with it in peace.
Years of habit, ego resists an accord;
“Peace is possible“, my soul whispers.
Seeing this reality without judging it;
A bridge to a new horizon is created.
Dropping my weapon, I surrender;
“Whatever is” becomes my mantra.
Peace, gentleness, the quiet powers;
Life is, my soul echoes… Stand firm.
