He had been married but one day he just decided
To walk out of his family life and walk the earth
There was no warning for his actions in any way
His actions had no meaning at all nor did they any worth
His loved ones could not understand his sudden choice
And for that matter one supposes nor did he as well
He just walked around from town to the next town
And where he is now today no body could ever tell
They knew earlier what he had been doing after leaving
As some passed him along the highways back awhile
And he looked then as if he was just another lost soul
Wandering endlessly alone away out along some country mile
Some had stopped at one point in time to ask how he was
To find out if they could what might be so very wrong
And he seemed then to be in his own sweet daze as he walked
While he almost silently hummed a very old and well known song
His family they all grew and a father they never ever knew
So they imagined that he was simply always in another place
And they never understood and well might not ever would
But prayed endlessly that he was surrounded by Godly grace
A vagabond at best was he and he might not have understood
Why his heart and mind it seemed to love was one could say blind
But within himself as once known this man he was a soul so good
And upon one day this man for no reason he simply walked away
And leaving all that loved him on earth and his very lovely home
And just wandered around and covering ground always upon his own
He was a sore and sorry sight when last seen but in a world of his own
What has a man with so many wonderful reasons to live a life so well
And simply up and walk out of it all leaving loved ones and his home.
