Climb the highest mountain, punch the face of god

Be The Phoenix

A star that said
"Let's be together,"
And the rage of dying out
That took away the
Breath I was saving for love.

Tears blister in my eyes
And spill over my cheeks,
Racing to my neck.

I've never felt so ugly before.

I walk away from a score
Of chastising words that feel
Like lightning stabbing
Into my heart.

Can I walk away,
Feeling legless?
Drained of hope?
Dare I fly and be the phoenix
I swore I could be?

Or am I like the falling star?
There one minute,
Faded out the next?
