BLACK RAIN BLACK RAIN BLACK RAIN
I stand watching the rain
beating against my window pane,
in a Black neighborhood
full of Black pain;
A Black man and a Black wife,
in a black area, with a Black life.
Rain falling from the heavens
from God up above,
to cleanse our Black souls,
and refresh our Black love.
BLACK RAIN, BLACK RAIN.
I see Black children splashing
in the puddles while
Black teens hold hands, getting cuddles.
Black businesses doing what they do,
day by black day, this remains true.
Rain drops continue to fall,
washing out sorrow and pain,
so we simply call it,
BLACK RAIN, BLACK RAIN.
Black Rain, black rain
against my window pane,
I watch you wash black drama
right on down the drain.
As one Black man in one Black hood,
watching you fall does my soul good.
Wash out the negative and wash in new life,
help us forget about our stress and strife.
BLACK RAIN-- BLACK REIGN....
