The Grace of God
Keep it in mind respect your King,
Obeying the authorities;
But to the cross then you must cling,
To keep spiritual liberties.
Be ready on every good deed,
And speak evil unto no one;
God will give you just what you need,
Rewarding you when you are done.
Be gentle showing you are meek,
To every woman and man;
And whatever that you may seek,
God reveals to you in His plan.
We also were once so foolish,
Serving our lusts and pleasures;
With a faith as somewhat ghoulish,
To desire earthly treasures.
But upon the kindness of God,
Our Savior had showed His love;
Was by our honor and laud,
Not by our merit thereof.
Being justified by His grace,
So we merely become His heirs;
That allows passage to His place,
And His inheritance He shares.
Then eternal life is the hope,
Of what I can look forward to;
Until such time God help me cope,
Within this life to get me through.
