Time is the curse of our society
There`s never enough of it I`m sure you`ll agree,
We are always trying to catch up
There just seems to be no let-up,
Buses don`t turn up, then there`s traffic jams
And how about the over-crowded trams.
Chasing our tails is what we do best
Always trying to fulfil our quest,
So much stress trying to beat the clock
But we should stop and take stock,
As it is our society that is to blame
Speed today is the name of the game.
Everybody wants everything done yesterday
And how we perform reflects in our pay,
Unable to fulfil an order on time
In this day and age it is a crime,
So we lose the job they don`t care
They will just simply go elsewhere.
There used to be 24 hours in a day
No doubt there still are I daresay,
But there never seems to be that many
In fact there seems to be hardly any,
As there is so much to do and so little time
It seems to be a constant up-hill climb.
The only time that time drags by
Is when you simply want it to fly,
Too much to ask when said and done
As time drags when there`s no fun,
Then each second seems to drag on
When you just wish it to be gone.
