a river is

A river is.

A river is a winding silver snake, slithering, curving the stones.
A river is a sheet of glass, cutting your feet on broken rocks; crying and sad.
A river is a roller coaster, going faster every time, that never goes up but it goes down.
A river is a friendly sea, that goes through cities and towns.
A river is patient, it's there for a thousand years, imagine how much water there would be, if the whole world cried it's tears.

Joanne Chisnall
Age 8.
