One by one
we plant the seeds
for our tomorrow's child to feed.
our deeds a measure by the sun
rise and set; play re-runs
our greed to fallow ground succumbs.
We've moved through sewage
ages deep, drown in gutters, our defeat
cultures splitting, segregating
bubble-gum balloons stretch, waiting
black and yellow, white and red
passed each tolerance to dread;
non-abating, escalating
popping turmoil just ahead!
Cropping down, our efforts reach
to taste the harvest
which we preach:
"Enough, enough to go around
Love makes plentiful its ground?"
Mind expands when not distorted
by prejudice, ignorance escorted,
propagandized, full of lies
if man would only scrutinize
the fruits he swallows (to survive?)
poison figs cost his demise!
Human all, not color bound
culture shock a devils clown
politics an asses bray
sound of "hee-haw" leads astray!
One by one we can bequeath
a bondage severed passed its grief
colors merged together heeding
razor, red-stained cultures bleeding
halting bigotry, incestuous breeding.
Coffin nails a distant pound
as we discover fertile ground
where new seeds planted,
not beguiled
for Love of our tomorrows child.
