When he was the smallest boy away back when
Everything he did according to others he was wrong
And later proven what he had done was so right
Not a word of ,, you were right ,,,was their song
Through life he had saved the lives of very souls
By getting in their and doing then what had to be done
And after doing that in an instant and risking his life
Not a single thank you on the day he won
He was married to two women over his time and yes
They were always right and nothing he said was right
No matter if what he said at that time was correct
After finding this , their lips were always shut tight
Its called THE PRINCIPLE OF THE MATTER during life
He never wanted a million dollars at any time its true
Its simply THE PRINCIPLE OF THE MATTER thats all it is
A small amount of appreciation maybe just a thank you
He was a rather shy soul within himself in life
His mind it was brilliant but he never finished school
His ideas saved a company once millions of dollars
And they smiled and thought of him as a fool
Later on it cost them three million to fix it all
And even more when it come to men and their wages
And not one of them when they passed him in the street
Could give him the slightest admittance or credit for ages
Its simply called THE PRINCIPLE OF THE MATTER in life
The slightest smallest thing that anything can be
Its not asking the world to give him anything in life
Only a well done or thank you or you were right you see
Married couple deal with this all the time in life
One of them might never give any credit to the other one
But the other one takes it all in his or her stride
Carries on doing the same as marriage is until time is done
but its just THE PRINCIPLE OF THE MATTER thats all it is
And its a small thing that all deserve and should expect
But ever so often ever so many simply do not stop to think
And do not know even what it is in life would be more correct.
