The volcano erupts
Spouts in the wake of a moment
Vomiting pain, gushing torment,
Heedless of the Life its liquid lava burns
Raging down the mountainside
Kneading blisters, twists and turns.
A vile reality of man
Generations, hand to hand!
Only when the fire cools
Do we then lay spent;
Bear witness to the best intent
Of our creation
Grieve with mindful sorrow
For our selfish desecration!
Yet, amid the smoke and ashes
Pushing through the charred terrain
A green young sapling slowly sprouts
A new reality to reign!
